Best Apps to Learn Everything You Need to Know About Geometry

Geometry is truly an amazing subject. While some people may not find it to be the most interesting, the truth is that it forms the basis for the understanding of many other fields of science. So, whether you want to study chemistry, physics, architecture, or art, learning geometry is essential. Although I don’t use geometry formulas on a daily basis, I do use geometry equations every now and then to make some calculations. However, there are so many geometry formulas that sometimes I find myself looking them up online just to make sure that I remember them correctly.

So, I thought it would be a good idea to find the best geometry apps to brush up on my geometry concepts and to keep the formulas handy when I need them. After spending some time on Google, I came across a site called AppGrooves that has a list of the top 10 apps for learning geometry.

After testing some of the apps on their list, I selected the 3 that I liked the most. I’ll provide some of my thoughts on each one below.

Pythagorea – Test your geometry knowledge with games and puzzles

One of the apps I liked the most is Pythagorea. And, the reason is that it is not your typical app with geometry lessons. In fact, geometry concepts are reviewed with games and puzzles, which I found absolutely addicting! I found it to be very complete as the puzzles cover everything from circles, triangles, and angles to concepts like symmetry and rotation. I also liked that you can easily review concepts by accessing a geometry glossary, complete with illustrations and definitions.

Think the levels are too easy? Don’t be fooled by the first few puzzles! While I found the first couple of levels to be relatively easy to complete, I did notice that the difficulty level increases as you reach higher levels. In fact, I found some of the higher levels to be quite challenging! I couldn’t find a hint option, but I did notice that the info button on each level provides insight into the concepts that are used in the puzzle. While it may not tell you how to solve the exact problem, I’ve found that it gives you just the information you need so you can solve it on your own.

King of Math – Compete to become the ultimate geometer!

Another geometry app I really liked is King of Math. Like my previous pick, you can practice geometry concepts by playing games. However, what I really like about it is that it takes it a step further by adding fun elements like character selection, themed music and animations. You also build up points and earn stars for every level you complete, which I found to be really motivating for completing more puzzles. I also liked the competitive aspect, as you can compare your score with your friends and with other players around the world.

The only thing I didn’t like was that the puzzles are timed. And, the faster you complete the puzzle, the more points you get. While I like that it adds a bit of a challenge, sometimes I wasn’t in the mood for rushing through geometry puzzles. However, there is no maximum time limit, so you can take your time to complete them. And, puzzles can also be retaken at a later time.

Maths Formulas Free – Any math formula at your fingertips.

Last but not least, my third pick is Maths Formulas Free. Unlike my other picks, this app does not have geometry games and puzzles. In fact, it is quite the opposite. I found this to be a great choice for anyone who wants to quickly reference geometry formulas or any mathematical formula for that matter. I found that all the formulas are neatly organized into categories, which is super useful for quickly finding what you need. I also liked that there is a simple yet highly useful graphing calculator feature, which is great for solving geometry problems on-the-go.

Although I didn’t have any issues, I noticed that some users said the app can get a bit slow after using it for a while. Apparently, a quick fix is to close and restart the app, and it will get back to running smoothly again. Hopefully, the developers will address the issue in a future update!

Conclusion

I believe these apps are more than enough to help you out with geometry from the elementary level to college. But in case, you need even more help, I’ll leave the link to the list so you can check even more educative options.
